Fellow of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) OCT 2025

Dr Ananjan Maiti is an accomplished academician, researcher, and technologist whose work spans Electronics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and interdisciplinary innovation. Recently elected as a Fellow of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Membership No. F-507117, he has been formally recognized for his sustained contribution to engineering research, professional leadership, and national-level academic development. His fellowship certification, issued from the New Delhi headquarters, highlights his long-term role in strengthening the professional ecosystem of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in India.

Across more than a decade of work, Dr Maiti has contributed to multiple domains of computing and intelligent systems. His research interests include (i) machine learning models for societal and industrial applications, (ii) secure, AI-driven solutions for healthcare and governance, (iii) deep learning pipelines for scientific computing, and (iv) modern telecommunication and embedded system interfaces in practical environments. His publication record includes many peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and conference presentations with reputed publishers such as Springer, Elsevier, and Bentham Science.

Within the academic community, Dr Maiti serves as a mentor and guide to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral scholars. His teaching approach emphasizes (i) building strong foundational knowledge, (ii) hands-on experimentation, and (iii) bridging theory with real-world use cases. He has also been involved in curriculum development, national-level technical training programs, and institutional consultancy for digital transformation. Through these roles, he helps students and young researchers gain confidence in AI, cybersecurity, and system-level thinking.

In professional service, his election as a Fellow of IETE marks a significant milestone. He has participated in projects addressing healthcare prediction systems using blockchain frameworks, sustainable aquaculture policy modelling using reinforcement learning, and intelligent monitoring systems using computer vision and transformer architectures. Beyond research and teaching, he is a creative communicator, producing high-quality digital content including infographics, scientific diagrams, domain-specific frameworks, and public-facing educational material. JIS Innovation Award 2024

Dr. Ananjan Maiti from the Department of Computer Application at GNIT (Guru Nanak Institute of Technology) has been awarded the JIS Innovation Award 2024 in three different categories for the 2022-2023 academic session:

  1. Research Paper Publication with Students
  2. Patent Publication
  3. Articles & Journal Publication
